Another record-setting Whiteford volleyball season has come to a close, but not before the Bobcats put some bruises on the top-ranked Class C volleyball team in the state.
The Bobcats won the first game against Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central in Tuesday’s Class C District volleyball match, but lost to the Kestrels in four games, 21-25, 25-10, 25-15, 25-22. It was a spirited match in front of a huge crowd at Erie Mason.
Whiteford won the TCC title for the third consecutive season and will enter 2015 having won 42 consecutive TCC games. The team won nearly 40 matches overall this season.
In the other Class C quarterfinal Tuesday, Blissfield defeated Britton-Deerfield in three games.
Blissfield will take on Summerfield while SMCC plays Erie Mason Thursday.
