Summerfield drops opener

PETERSBURG — Summerfield fell to one of its former head coaches Friday, dropping a 55-44 decision to Blissfield.

The Royals are coached by Ron Estes, head coach at Summerfield for seven seasons, ending in 1998-99.

The visiting Royals, who went 2-1 this week against the TCC, made six three-pointers for the game.

Summerfield was led by Josh VanKainen’s 11 points.
