BD girls drop first

Sand Creek upended Britton-Deerfield Tuesday in a key TCC girls basketball clash.

The Aggies won, 34-33.

BD had a chance at the end, but went 1-of-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.

Kaylee Benge scored 15 to lead the Aggies.

Abbey Meinert had 9 points for BD, while Morgan Tanis had 8 points and 11 rebounds. Ella Nighswander had 12 rebounds (9 offensive) for BD while Janessa Handy had 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.

“Bottom line is we weren’t ready to play tonight and Sand Creek was. Even as bad as we played, we still had a chance to win but we couldn’t make a free throw,” BD coach Craig Tanis said.
