Britton-Deerfield and Madison will square off Tuesday in a battle of TCC girls basketball contenders.
The Patriots are coming off a 52-37 win over previously unbeaten Summerfield Friday while Madison overcame a slow start to beat Sand Creek, 42-22.
Madison is 5-0, BD is 4-1, Summerfield is 4-1 and Sand Creek is 3-2 in the TCC.
The Aggies led Madison 15-13 at halftime, but Kendall Hudson erupted for 12 third-quarter points as the Trojans surged ahead. She finished with 22 points. Ashley Morris added 10 for the Trojans.
BD was led in its win by Morgan Tanis, who scored 23 points.
“It was a great win for us tonight,” BD coach Craig Tanis said. “I am extremely pleased at how we bounced back from a terrible loss to Sand Creek. We played with passion and energy at both ends of the floor. Morgan had a monster game offensively and Janessa (Handy) had a great floor game. Our offense runs through her. She doesn’t score a lot but she does an awesome job at running the team and doing all the little things.”
