OTTAWA LAKE — Whiteford’s Janie Bunge reached 1,000-career points Tuesday night in the Bobcats game against Ida.
Bunge reached the milestone with a free throw in the second half. Ida beat Whiteford 45-25 after leading 14-8 at halftime.
Bunge, who now has 1,005 career points, is the eighth Bobcat to reach 1,000 career points. The full list:
A four-year varsity player, Janie reached 1,000 points in her 80th career game with the Bobcats.
She scored 102 points as a freshman, 210 as a sophomore and 341 as a junior when she won the TCC scoring championship. She has 352 points this year for the 4-14 Bobcats after scoring 14 vs. Ida Tuesday in front of the home Bobcat fans. She is averaging 19.6 points per game and leads the TCC in scoring with one league game remaining.

She was presented a plaque by Bobcat coach and athletic director Nate Gust.
A three-sport athlete, Bunge was second team All-State in volleyball this past season for the Bobcats, helping them win a third straight league championship. She was also named Female Athlete of the Year in the Monroe County Region.
