Iott to play college basketball at Bethany College

OTTAWA LAKE – Mitch Iott, who led the Whiteford Bobcats in scoring, rebounds and blocked shots this past season, will play college basketball in 2015-16 at Bethany College in West Virginia.

Bethany competes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference and is a Division 3 college.

Iott was a two-year starter for the Bobcats, averaging 16.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots a game this past season. He was second on the team in assists with 40. His career scoring high came against Clinton, when he scored 34 points. The 6-foot-2 forward scored 475 career points in 45 career games.

Iott, the son of Tim and Deb Iott of Ottawa Lake, was named first team All Tri-County Conference and first team All Monroe County Region.

Bethany recently finished its 2014-15 campaign with an 18-11 overall record, marking their 12th consecutive season with a winning record. This season also marked their 11th straight berth into postseason play.

The private, liberal arts college, is located about 30 minutes from Wheeling, West. Va. It is the oldest institute of public learning in West Va.
