Clinton clinches TCC volleyball crown

Clinton won its first TCC volleyball championship since 2009 Thursday, beating Madison to secure the conference crown.

The Redskins won in four sets, 26-24, 20-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Clinton senior Mary Anna Burnham ran the offense with 39 assists, 18 digs, went 16/16 serving, with 4 aces.. Makayla Thompson led all hitters going 68/70 hitting with 21 kills, 3 solo blocks and added 22 digs. Kristen Pike went 17/17 serving, 47/55 hitting with 9 kills and added 22 digs. Sabrina Van Allen went 15/17 hitting with 4 kills and 5 solo blocks. Juliana Musser went 13/16 hitting with 4 kills. Amanda Schaare dominated the middle going 41/45 hitting with 12 kills. Libero Kaitlyn Clegg went 15/15 serving, added 34 digs and went 33/35 on serve receive.

The Redskins are now 13-0 in the TCC with a match remaining against Sand Creek. The Redskins are 22-11-6.

Clinton’s championship ends Whiteford’s streak of three straight league titles.
