Redskins use big plays to defeat Jackson Lumen Christi

In one of the most impressive playoff performances by a Tri-County Conference team in history, the Clinton Redskins are moving on to Division 6 state semifinals after beating Jackson Lumen Christi 49-20.

The Redskins (12-0) will play next Saturday.

Noah Poore scored on a 75-yard run, a 75-yard kickoff return and a 4-yard run. Mathew Sexton scored on runs of 26, 38, 80 and 57 as the Redskins rolled to the win. Sexton’s 258-yards rushing pushed him past the 2,000-yard mark – the first TCC player with that many rushing yards – while Poore also has more than 100 yards on the ground.

The Redskins are 44-3 over the last four years.

The Redskins will take on either Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian (11-0) or Constantine (7-4). Those teams play today.

The other D6 semifinal is Traverse City St. Francis (12-0) vs. Ithaca (12-0).
