OTTAWA LAKE – Two Whiteford baseball players have signed to play college baseball next year and a third has received his first Division 1 offer.
Catcher Josh Beck signed this week with the Jackson College Jets while pitcher Hunter Nagle previously signed with Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor.
As a junior, Beck batted .500 with 4 homeruns, 14 doubles and 33 RBI. He had 46 hits and earned first team All-State honors from the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association. Nagle went 5-1 as a junior on the mound, pitching 37.2 innings.
Also recently, Bobcat shortstop Thomas Eitniear received his first Division 1 offer for baseball, this coming from the University of Toledo. As a freshman, Eitniear batted .295 (33-112) with 32 runs scored and 22 stolen bases.
Whiteford opens its 2016 baseball season with a doubleheader at home vs. Ida on April 4.
