Clinton softball team wins District

Clinton wins Game 1 of their district 12-2 in a 5 inning mercy rule. Renee Hoffman took the winning pitching the first 3 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts. Megan Burton came in the bottom of the 4th to finish the game allowing one hit and striking out 4.

Offense was led by lead off hitter Ashleigh Donahey going 2-3 with a 2 run homerun in the 5th inning. Hayley Turk was 3-4 with a double and RBI, Renee Hoffman was 2-4 with a double and RBI, Madelyn Stapnowski was 3-4, Lindsey Branscum was 2-3 with an RBI, and Caitlyn Schuler added an RBI double.

Clinton wins their 11th straight district title beating Columbia Central 8-0. Renee Hoffman was the winning pitcher throwing her 4th no-hitter with 1 walk, and 9 strikeouts.

Offense was led by Ashleigh Donahey going 2-3 with 2 RBI. Rilee Szczesniak was also 2-3. Renee Hoffman added an RBI triple, Caitlyn Schuler hit an RBI double. Lindsey Branscum added a 2 out 2 RBI double. Sarah Turner also added an RBI double. Stapnowski, Turk, and Burton each added a hit.

Clinton will continue play in Madison at Regionals next Saturday. Their record stands at 37-3.
