Madison will play its Class C quarterfinal game at Whitmore Lake at 6 p.m. Tuesday, not at home as originally announced.
The Trojans were scheduled to host the quarterfinal, but, when they beat Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central, the MHSAA decided to move the venue so that they wouldn’t be playing at home this deep into the tournament.
Madison takes on Allen Park Cabrini.
“The rule is they don’t want teams playing at home at this level,” Madison coach Dawn Opsal said. “So, they started looking around for places to play and decided to go to Whitmore Lake. That’s kind of like a home court for us.”
Madison (56-3-2) has set a school record for victories and beat the No. 1 ranked team in the state in SMCC in the Regional final, which was also held at Whitmore Lake.
“I’m excited for this group of girls,” Opsal said. “The girls have had a great year all-around. I hope they are not satisfied with beating SMCC. I don’t believe they will be. We can make it to the big court if we play our game and focus.”
The Madison-Cabrini winner will play the winner of Brown City vs. Shelby at 2 p.m. Thursday in Battle Creek in the semifinal.
