Updated standings: Bobcat defense historic in win

OTTAWA LAKE — Whiteford stayed even with Sand Creek Thursday with a 71-23 win over Clinton.

The Bobcats allowed just six points in the second and third quarters combined in moving to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the TCC. Sand Creek is 8-0 and 4-0 after beating Whitmore Lake.

Whiteford’s defensive performance was one of its best in school history. In fact, the 23 points allowed was the fewest a Bobcat opponent has scored since Boysville put up 17 in 1962. The 23 points is the lowest total for Whiteford opponent in a Tri-County Conference game.
