Bobcats fall in state title game, 8-0, conclude TCC sports year

EAST LANSING — The Whiteford Bobcats bid to become the second TCC team to win a state championship this year fell short Saturday as they lost 8-0 in the state Division 4 softball title game.

Whiteford managed just one hit in falling to the No. 1 ranked Indian River Inland Lakes team. Senior Erin Manley had the lone Whiteford hit. Manley was one of three Bobcat seniors – Alyssa Granata and Victoria VanBrandt being the other. Seven sophomores started for Whiteford, which has no juniors on its roster.

The Bobcats finish the season 33-7 and won the Tri-County Conference title.
