Three TCC players have been named First Team All-State by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Whiteford’s senior duo of Andrew Toda and Thomas Eitniear made the first team, as did Summerfield sophomore Derek Clark. Another Bulldog sophomore, Brendan Dafoe, earned second-team honors.
Toda went 10-1 on the season, tying a Bobcat record for victories in a single season. Eitniear batted .416 and led the Bobcats in hits, runs and stolen bases. The Bobcats won the TCC for the fourth straight season and finished 20-7.
Clark batted .538 with 56 hits in 104 at-bats. He had 13 doubles and scored 43 runs. On the mound, he went 4-3 with 112 strikeouts in 63.2 innings pitched and an ERA of 1.979.
Dafoe hit .345 with 14 RBIs and 33 runs scored while helping the Bulldogs to a 21-14 record and an appearance in the state quarterfinals.
